  1. First, this book has some interesting ideas and is worth buying. However, it is written at a level of intelligence that insulting a brilliant student in the sixth. It also presupposes that there will be a half dozen people involved in the supervision of a person, not a person of surveillance work alone.

  2. Authorized as a private investigator, professor of private investigation courses, and a discreet surveillance operator experience, I can personally say that most of the techniques described in this book are of little value to private researchers like me. The vast majority of these techniques involve the monitoring team “has an unlimited supply of resources and professionals (ie police team). Anyone with experience, including remote monitoring, we know that this rarely ever (most likely) be the case.

discreet surveillance cooperatives increased private sector (ie, private investigators) work alone or in teams of two (only when the client can afford it, of course). Therefore, most of the techniques discussed in this book are of little value to private investigators. There is some emphasis (in the original), good information in this book, but certainly not what one would expect Based on the title.

If you are looking for a title that actually contains useful (my emphasis), surveillance techniques and procedures, I recommend: Covert Surveillance: The Manual Surveillance Training by Peter Jenkins (ISBN: 0953537803). I had the pleasure of reading this beautiful text, I believe is only discreet surveillance techniques or the book is worth recommending procedures. Unfortunately I could not find a copy for your purchase.

  3. An excellent book for those interested or who actually use surveillance techniques. This book offers the reader an overview of the basic mechanics needed to develop surveillance operations. If you’re new to this game, then this book will help you gain a full understanding of the basics. However, if you are looking for the complexity of using techniques to become effective workers, then you may be disappointed a little. “To balance this review, the book is disappointed by the lack of any photographs that would be ideal to illustrate the technical problems or writer wanted to convey. For example: The discussion on the use of wigs and disguises and using fake beard will be seen through photography. This would be invaluable and help oporator not fully understand what is actually needs. Also, the lack of templates for things such as photography or video logs would be a useful tool for inclusion in this book. However, it is a good book and worth reading.

This book is fine, but all the information described in huge blocks of printed documents to follow with very few models or case studies. You could probably get stuff same quality open source research on Google. The methods described are on a provisional basis.

I bought ‘Advanced Surveillance by Peter Jenkins well, and we recommend that you buy in place. You’ll get much more value for your money! The techniques in this book (Advanced Security) are at a much higher level and are described in detail with lots of diagrams, case studies and examples.

I work under civil law and found that this book is very practical. I thought it was very well written. I can say that the author must have a real world experience just because someone who worked on the streets could be defined so clearly. I have collected some very useful suggestions that my team did not know or simply ignored. I recommend this book to anyone in a related field. I should add a little “more about creating a point of view
good. And it’s a bit” heavy on the end unlimited resource or teams of 4 members and communication of the mesh. Apart from that it was definitely worth reading.
